This MP3 player was put together using bits of Action Script, XML and Javascript found on the Web and is the result of many hours of labor... particularly hours of frustration when I couldn't get it to work. The GUI is, of course, an attempt at iTunes-related humor.
If you want to use this baby on your site, click here to download the player and customizable XML playlist. No code or confusion necessary... Instructions:
1. Download and unstuff the player zip file.
2. Replace the song titles in the XML playlist with the file names and song titles of the mp3s you want to play online (be careful not to mess with the backslashes or quote marks or it'll mess up, and use absolute links starting with 'http://' if you don't intend to put the mp3s in the same directory as the player) and save without changing the file name.
3. Upload the SWF and XML to your server and link to them from your Web page.
4.
That's it.
Or, of course, you could always just use iTunes... but where's the fun in that?
Thanks for listening! Back to player
(Apologies to anyone who downloaded this prior to June 9, 2007. I accidently uploaded a version that only played out of the right speaker... this is now fixed!)
